Together for Safe Spaces in Sport
Children and young people should be able to enjoy sport, develop their confidence, feel that they belong and grow stronger. Above all, they should feel safe. That is why Sport-Thieme is supporting “Starke Kinder – Starke Vereine”, a child safeguarding programme run by Klubtalent and the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation Germany, Austria, with a €50,000 donation.
The initiative focuses on preventing interpersonal violence in grassroots sport. Its goal is to create 10,000 safe spaces for a total of 2.5 million children across Germany by 2035. These are places where children and young people can rely on trusted contacts, clear safeguarding structures and a safe environment.
Taking Responsibility for a Safe Environment
Sports clubs, schools and other organisations play an important role in physical activity and community life. They are places where children build confidence, experience team spirit and grow together. To do so freely, they need a protected environment.
As a company that promotes sport and physical activity, we take responsibility. Through our support, we want to raise the visibility of child safeguarding in grassroots sport while helping organisations establish effective preventive measures. Sport should remain a place where children can enjoy being active. A place where they can build trust, feel that they belong and grow stronger.
You Can Help Too
