Nationwide Jersey Day: We’re in!
The German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) invites everyone to show support for their own club or favorite team on Jersey Day. After being successfully held for several years in various regional sports associations, the event took place nationwide for the first time on June 14, 2024—and of course, we joined in! We encouraged our employees to wear their jerseys to work, resulting in a colorful and vibrant display.
Many of our team members proudly showcased a wide range of colors, clubs, and sports. The jerseys sparked plenty of interesting conversations about different teams and organizations, allowing for an exchange of experiences and new insights into various sports.
Beyond the fun, the day also highlighted an important message: teamwork and solidarity. The core idea behind Jersey Day was truly felt, and as DOSB President Thomas Weikert put it: “With this initiative, we want to raise awareness for the 87,000 sports clubs across the country, what they stand for, and the invaluable role they play every day. Sports clubs are places of community, diversity, integration, and inclusion—they strengthen social cohesion.”
A huge thank you to everyone who took part and to all those who make our sports clubs what they are! We’re already looking forward to the next Jersey Day and hope that even more people will join in to promote and celebrate the incredible work these clubs do, both within and beyond our industry.
