Did you know that we produce our own lane and divider ropes?

our saddlery – delivering quality for more than 60 years

In addition to our own carpentry and metalworking departments, we also operate a dedicated saddlery at our Heidwinkel site, which is also home to our warehouse. Since 1990, Ms. Buchmann has been solely responsible for creating a range of products as a one-person department. Among other items, she produces lane and divider ropes, Bunting for backstroke flags, suction holders, and beach handball court markings.

an inside look at the production of a lane rope

To give you a glimpse behind the scenes of our saddlery, I shadowed Ms. Buchmann in her work. I also learned the differences between lane and divider ropes. Lane ropes always start with 5 meters of red floats, followed by white floats, and finish with another 5 meters of red floats. In addition, every lane rope comes with an end fitting. Divider ropes, on the other hand, are usually manufactured with alternating red and white floats as standard, but can also be made to custom specifications. Customers can choose whether they want their divider rope supplied with or without an end fitting. Discover our premium swimming lanes here.
