Sport-Thieme takes responsibility for the environment: EMAS

Sport-Thieme has introduced the European Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS). This enables us to systematically improve our environmental performance. Since 2025, Sport-Thieme has been ISO 14001 certified – an important milestone on our way to EMAS certification.

A key element of EMAS is the environmental statement, which is reviewed and validated by an independent environmental auditor: Environmental statement (German).

  With EMAS, we commit to setting concrete environmental targets, implementing specific measures, and regularly reviewing and improving our environmental performance – with the clear goal of making our processes more environmentally friendly.
• what does the introduction of EMAS mean for sport-thieme and the environment?
  The EMAS process identifies how companies can be organised in the most eco-friendly way possible. We ensure that environmental improvements are continuously implemented in our operations. All of this is documented transparently in our environmental statement.
• who is EMAS relevant for?
  Certification is voluntary and not required by law. By implementing EMAS, we demonstrate to our partners and customers that environmental protection is an integral part of everyday life at Sport-Thieme.
