Sustainability is a key focus at Sport-Thieme: we use environmentally friendly energy, ship products in a climate-conscious manner and support regional projects. An EMAS-certified environmental management system is planned for the end of 2025. We are also actively involved in environmental and climate protection at an international level – for all our employees and our future.

As a signatory of the “Charta der Vielfalt” we are committed to recognizing, valuing, and promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

Sustainability scoring
Together with the “Denkfabrik sportainable”, Sport-Thieme is developing a tool to assess the sustainability of sports equipment, the sportainableSCORE.

The Climate Pledge
As a family-owned business, Sport-Thieme is deeply committed to reducing emissions within our influence to align with the 1.5°C target of the Paris Climate Agreement. By collaborating with various stakeholders, including our suppliers and customers, we aim to achieve measurable successes. This commitment is formalized by our signing of the international climate protection pledge, “The Climate Pledge.”

Initiated by Amazon and Global Optimism, this pledge has been adopted by over 300 companies and organizations worldwide, which have committed to becoming climate-neutral across their entire operations by 2040. The collaboration focuses on three key action areas:
- Regular measurement and reporting of direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions.
- Implementation of CO2 reduction strategies in line with the Paris Climate Agreement through business changes and innovations, including efficiency improvements, renewable energy use, reduced raw material consumption, and overall CO2 emission avoidance strategies.
- Neutralization of all remaining emissions through additional, quantifiable, real, permanent, and socially beneficial compensations to achieve net-zero CO2 emissions by the end of 2040.
Sport-Thieme is a member of ZEMBA

Together with well-known companies such as Amazon, Tchibo, Patagonia, Nike and 6 other companies, we are making our contribution to reducing emissions from sea freight to a minimum and at the same time investing in more environmentally friendly propulsion systems.
