Sport-Thieme Adopts EMAS to Strengthen Environmental Responsibility
Sustainability requires clear structures and measurable goals. That’s why Sport-Thieme has implemented EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme), a demanding environmental management system. It helps us systematically identify environmental impacts, implement targeted measures, and transparently communicate our progress.
More Structure, More Transparency, More Accountability
With certification and entry into the EMAS register in February 2026, we are ensuring the continuous improvement of our environmental performance. This includes clearly defined responsibilities, regular reviews, and transparent reporting on our progress.
A key element of EMAS is the environmental statement. It outlines our environmental objectives, the measures already in place, and how we continue to develop our environmental management system step by step.
What This Means for Our Customers and Partners
EMAS strengthens our commitment to sustainability in day-to-day business and provides a reliable foundation for greater transparency and credibility. It allows us to demonstrate how we take responsibility and integrate environmental considerations into our processes.
An Important Milestone on This Journey
A significant step was the external audit conducted by environmental verifier Dr. Ralf Utermöhlen. The audit assessed whether our environmental management system meets the required standards and is robustly established.
In the video, CSR Manager Wolfram Nimmerrichter shares insights into this milestone and explains why EMAS is an important driver for greater structure, transparency, and responsibility at Sport-Thieme.
Our Conclusion
For us, EMAS is not a one-off project but an ongoing process. We are continuously working to improve our environmental performance and firmly embed sustainable practices throughout our company.
